S-CAPE - safe in an earthquake
In an earthquake, time is critical. People in schools and other buildings must evacuate quickly, but the route to safety can be dangerous. Falling debris and unpredictable tremors pose significant threats, making immediate body protection essential during the escape. This is where the Shock Cape becomes vital.
It provides protection while enabling a swift exit, safeguarding individuals from potential injuries.
The cape design is insprired by the folding technique of origami, while its shape is an homage to traditional japanese horo mantle.
Pulling the special cord rapidly inflates the cape with compressed air, released from built-in cartridges. The air cushions protect the head, neck, and back, offering instant shock absorption.
Its outer shell is made from impact-absorbing carbon materials and remains compact when not in use. The top layer stiffens upon activation, offering protection against falling debris.
The bright warning colors serve as a visual aid for rescuers, making it easier to locate individuals trapped by debris.
Compact, easy to store, and deployable within seconds, the Shock Cape is designed for rapid use in critical moments, offering essential protection and increasing the wearer’s chances of safe evacuation and rescue.
